A 23-year-old man has been charged with arson endangering life after a fire in the Blackpool Tower building.Nathaniel Hickie, of no fixed abode, was arrested yesterday following the blaze at KFC on Bank Hey Street at around 8pm on Monday.

Hickie has been remanded in police custody and will appear at Blackpool Magistrates Court this morning. The blaze broke out in a basement gents toilet and staff had to evacuate the building while firefighters battled the flames. More than 200 people in total were removed from the building and a show about to start in the Tower Circus had to be postponed.
